soil blocking

Soil blocking is a great alternative to seed trays resulting in a healthier root system. We have found the soil blocks to be easier to transplant out in the field and the plants establish themselves quickly because there is no transplant shock. With only a small initial investment, you can save a lot of time and money. Virginia Naturals can teach you how to utilize this simple technique and prepare you to create super soil blocks in time for spring planting.

Creating your own Cutting garden & growing your own herbs and vegetables

If you love fresh cut flowers, herbs, and/or vegetables, growing your own at home can save you a lot of money. Starting is simple; all you will need are trays, potting soil, seeds, plant labels, and a little time and patience. Virginia Naturals can teach you how to get started for a bountiful harvest and how to keep it going the whole season with succession planting.

How to make a dried flower wreath

During the growing season, it’s easy to go out to the garden and gather a bunch of flowers for enjoying inside. But what about the winter months? Virginia Naturals can teach you how to dry your own flowers and show you how to turn them into stunning dried flower wreaths so you can hold on to that summer glow all winter long. We will introduce you to the basic tools and supplies as well as our techniques to get you off and running.
